Make it your own

“I believe”, said Dodo, “the best way to explain is to do”

Everything that surrounds us has the proper density and consistency to form through multiple pieces a whole. The elaboration takes much time, patience, perseverance so that you will be pleased with the end result. Starting from a basic idea, the development of the process will come along the way.

I  want  to  talk  to  you  about  the  uniqueness  of  some  pieces  from  our  wardrobe,  long  forgotten,  but  which  can  now  serve  us  as  some  perfect  landmarks  in  transforming  an  outfit.  The  whole  point  is  to  be  able  to  get  rid  of  everything  that  holds  us  back.

We like the persons who are well dressed who inexplicably manage to match every piece in a unique perfect mode. They inspire us. The question is if they inspire us so much that we might try that look. Most of the time no, because we can’t reproduce that uniqueness. Those persons create the look in a dream like environment and because of that for other people the clothes seem so inaccessible so they give up.23

“I love fashion because it is the most visual form of art, I enjoy it because it dictates and expresses itself using its own means.”      Melania Tucureanu
This is so true. The first impression can be wrong but if we analyze, we would notice how easy is to create your own style learning about ourselves, we will eliminate all the restraints.
Taking in consideration our silhouette, chromatic and prefered accessories, you will know what pieces to choose to create a total look and all the outfits will shine in a different light, making everything easier to understand and create.

Lewis Carroll, Alice in Tara minunilor, 1865*

  2. There is far more insight her than in most fashion blogs. Great ideas and presentation, and I love the bracelets on both wrists with this outfit – I would not have thought of that. Thank you for the follow, too –

  3. There’s fashion as a seasonal industry dictate and there’s fashion as personal expression. It is an expression of society as a whole that the former is followed a lot more than the latter.
A while ago I was doing political campaign work at a stand and those few hours gave me extremes of experiences with other people. Frustratingly brick-headed conservative attitude on one side, and on the other: Meeting an intelligent buddhist and me leaving the stand work in order to continue the talk, and a very pleasant fashion-related experience. Two young people were passing by, and I have to assume they came from a theater performance, because they looked like a mix of gypsy and elf. And it felt awesome. Seeing them moving among all the monotony and mainstream. Like a little pulse of magic. It’s also a bit sad that it’s such an extremely alien experience that it evokes such relatively positive feelings in me. In that moment more than ever, I was wishing that more people were bold enough to blur the distinction between dress and costume. (And then, maybe, as a natural next step, blur the distinction between life and roleplay, when they embrace the idea of playing the role of who they truly are.)
It’s not THAT easy though if the available material follows the industry dictate. One often would have to spend a lot of extra time and effort to find what reflects who they are, so naturally it is seen quite rarely.

  4. As an afterthought: How can we expect people to become politically active in shaping a better world when they’re even too afraid to wear the clothes they truly like? The problem permeates so many aspects of society. You can read and diagnose people just by looking at them.

    • This is very true. Most of the time you can tell how people moods are just by looking at what they are wearing!
Sometimes we need to step out of our comfort zone and experience new things.
      Thank you for the feedback!
